my book tells me that sathyan died in 1971. it also tells me that mammootty's first film was in 1979. so did he act as an extra? must have....very fascinating indeed.
chemmeen was a hit in 1965 so sri devi/1971 is wrong.
manju , in yr answers pleez give the dates of te films. thanks.

Mammootty was an 'extra' in this movie of sathyan.
